As I write this we are close to Thanksgiving here in the US and the Black Friday deals are plentiful. One kitchen appliance that is often on sale during this period is the Electric Griddle for as low as $9.99.
It is one of those small appliances I had really resisted owning for a long long time. My parents owned one and whenever I’d visit them, I liked how well it functioned but I just did not see the need for me to add one more thing in my kitchen. But eventually I gave it a try. My parents were downsizing and I decided to take their griddle off their hands.
The first thing I cooked on it were pancakes. And I was so so so surprised at how fast I was able to make a whole batch of them. Previously I would make 3 at a time on our stovetop skillet but now I could make 8-10 at a time. So at least 3 times faster.

I also could use it for making crepes, grill some meat and even cook bacon.
And almost all of these griddles some with a little drain hole and a grease catcher to help clean up super easy.
Storage is quite simple as well. They are so flat they can fit into almost any shelf space.
